To the Fallen

Via INDC Journal and Florida Cracker, Hugh Thompson died today. I know this gets thrown around a lot, but Thompson was indeed a true American Hero. Warrent Officer Thompson, along with his helicopter gunner crew, stopped the My Lai Massacre and rescued injured civilians. The massacre was a pivotal moment in the Vietnam War, both for the anti-war movement and the general public. If not for the brave actions of Thompson and his crew, and his willingness to testify against his fellow soldiers, the massacre may have gone unnoticed and unpunished. Read the whole thing.
